Billy Ray Cyrus and Johanna Rose Hodges Finalize Divorce

by Barbara

Billy Ray Cyrus, 62, and Johanna Rose Hodges, 36, commonly known as Firehose, have officially ended their marriage of seven months. The dissolution was finalized on Monday by a Williamson County judge, following Cyrus’ initial filing for divorce three months ago.

Cyrus cited irreconcilable differences and “inappropriate marital conduct” as reasons for seeking divorce from Hodges, whose legal name was changed to Cyrus before mediation. According to Cyrus’ legal team, this name change reinforced his claim that Hodges married him solely to adopt his surname.

Hodges’ representatives did not respond immediately to requests for comment.

Court documents indicate that neither party will pay spousal support, and asset division primarily considers assets owned individually before their marriage. Initially, Cyrus also sought an annulment citing fraud, alleging he would not have married Hodges had he known about the purported deceit. Details of the alleged fraud were not disclosed in the filing.

The couple, who married in October 2023 and resided in Tennessee, collaborated on music during their brief union. As per the court settlement, Cyrus will transfer ownership, master rights, copyright interests, and royalties related to their joint musical and intellectual property to Hodges.

The end of their marriage marks a significant legal conclusion after a brief and eventful union in both personal and professional realms.
