Early Release of “Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit”

by Barbara

In an unexpected turn of events, “Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit” was released globally ahead of its planned launch date. The interactive puzzle game, renowned for its distinctive pixel graphics and developed by Mega Cat Studios, is now available on Steam for $19.99. The premature release followed an accidental early debut in Japan.

ScottGames, the developer behind the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the mishap, stating, “Welp, Into the Pit got released early over in Japan. Our goof is your gain though, because now why not release it everywhere? It actually feels very fitting for a FNaF game to release EARLY!”

The early release is part of the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise. In a statement, the Mega Cat team expressed gratitude towards the fan community: “We cannot thank the community enough for the incredible support. We created this game as fans, for fans. From one FNaF to another, it’s a dream come true to see so many fans reciprocate the passion that we’ve poured into creating the game.”

The incident adds to a history of release blunders within the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise. Last year, an early release of “FNAF: Survival Crew,” an asymmetrical Roblox game, occurred due to a miscommunication about project approval. The game was removed within two hours of its accidental release.
