Warner Bros. Pictures is bringing “The Batman” back to select theaters worldwide for a one-night-only event on August 28. The special screening, presented in partnership with AMC Theatres and Dolby, will offer fans a chance to revisit Gotham City with Robert Pattinson’s Batman and enjoy an exclusive preview of the upcoming HBO Original series, “The Penguin.”
This cinematic event will take place in the U.S. on Wednesday, August 28, with international screenings scheduled for the same date or nearby. Attendees will experience a unique behind-the-scenes look at “The Penguin,” featuring insights from series star Colin Farrell and key creators including executive producers Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Lauren LeFranc, and Craig Zobel.
Jeff Goldstein, President of Domestic Distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures, and Andrew Cripps, President of International Distribution, expressed enthusiasm about the event. “The Batman” was a global sensation upon its release in 2022, grossing over $772 million worldwide. Goldstein and Cripps noted, “We’re excited to bring it back to theaters in partnership with AMC and Dolby, giving audiences a chance to see it again on the big screen as they gear up for more of Colin Farrell’s terrific performance as The Penguin.”
Reeves’ vision of the DC Super Hero captivated audiences and critics alike, and Farrell’s portrayal of The Penguin was particularly well-received. This success led to the development of “The Penguin,” an eight-episode limited series set to debut on HBO and stream on Max starting September 19, 2024.
In the U.S., the event will be showcased exclusively in 100 Dolby Cinema® at AMC locations. Internationally, “The Batman” will be presented in Dolby Cinema and Dolby Atmos® in theaters across the UK, France, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and South Korea. Attendees will receive a limited-edition mini-poster featuring new artwork, available while supplies last.
