FOX’s “The Masked Singer” is set to elevate its game in Season 12, premiering Wednesday, September 25 at 8 p.m. ET. The new season promises an array of original theme nights, including tributes to the 65th anniversary of Mattel’s Barbie, the 40th anniversary of the film “Footloose,” and a special night dedicated to Miley Cyrus.
Returning panelists Ken Jeong, Rita Ora, Robin Thicke, and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, along with host Nick Cannon, will guide viewers through the new season. This year, fans can expect classic themes like “Soundtrack of My Life” and “Thanksgiving Night,” as well as innovative new themes such as “Sports Night,” “60’s Night,” and “Who Are You Fest,” which will feature music from iconic festival lineups. These themes will influence everything from song choices to costumes and set designs, potentially offering clues to the masked performers’ identities.
A new element this season includes clues embedded in costumes, song selections, and on-stage moments, with each of the 15 contestants receiving support from a celebrity “Masked Ambassador.” These ambassadors, including Dick Van Dyke, Jewel, Ne-Yo, and DeMarcus Ware, will provide hints about the identities of the masked singers.
In the 2023-24 broadcast season, “The Masked Singer” averaged a 0.6 Live+7 Day rating among adults 18-49 and 5.9 million multiplatform viewers, making it FOX’s top unscripted series. The show can be watched on Hulu, Fox.com, Tubi, and various on-demand services including Cox Contour TV, DIRECTV, DISH, Fubo, and YouTube TV.
