Nigerian music star Tekno collapsed on stage during a concert in South Africa, leaving fans and industry insiders concerned about his well-being. As of now, details regarding his current condition remain unclear.
Tekno, known for his hit songs and vibrant performances, has been open about his ongoing health struggles. In 2019, the artist disclosed his battle with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). The condition has significantly impacted his vocal cords, causing severe challenges with speaking and singing.
To manage his GERD, Tekno underwent a surgical procedure known as Esophagogastric dissociation. Despite this intervention, his health journey has been fraught with difficulties. Tekno has publicly shared the emotional and financial burdens associated with his condition, describing a period of severe distress and near mental breakdown.
“I saw like four doctors,” Tekno recounted. “I was exhausted, praying, and some people even suggested that my challenges were due to a contract dispute or some form of spiritual attack. I was losing my mind; it was insane.”
Despite rigorous medical treatments and a long-term regimen to manage his acid reflux, Tekno’s health issues have persisted, leading to extended absences from his music career and considerable financial strain. During this time, he sought temporary relief by traveling to London before returning to Nigeria.
Tekno’s resilience has been evident throughout his career, which gained prominence with his rise to fame in 2016. As fans await further updates on his health following this recent incident, the music community continues to support and hope for his swift recovery.
