CM Punk to Star in Upcoming Comedy Film “Let’s Start a Cult”

by Barbara

CM Punk, known outside of the wrestling world as Phil Brooks, is set to venture into acting with a role in the comedy film Let’s Start a Cult, directed by Ben Kitnick. Although specific details about his role remain undisclosed, this marks another step in Punk’s expanding acting career. Recently, Punk joined Paradigm Talent Agency, following a trend among WWE stars seeking diverse opportunities.

The film’s synopsis reads: “After missing his cult’s long-awaited ritual suicide, an obnoxious loser and his former messiah partner attempt to rebuild their doomsday commune. As they travel through Middle America, they recruit a military enthusiast, a troubled mother, and a mysterious hitchhiker. The question remains: will this group of misfits achieve their ultimate destiny, or will they find new reasons to embrace life?”

After returning to AEW in 2021, Punk’s wrestling career faced challenges, including a recent injury and a heated feud with WWE’s Drew McIntyre. Their ongoing rivalry will continue at WWE’s Bash in Berlin next weekend, with a new stipulation for their match.
