Vijay Kumar is relishing the success of his recent film, Bheema, which has been a box office hit since its release on August 9. The film continues to attract audiences in Karnataka, even into its third week in theaters. In the midst of this success, Kumar has unveiled his next venture, collaborating with his long-time associate, RR Vetri Vel, also known as Thambi.
Temporarily titled VK 30, the project was announced with a striking poster featuring Kumar in a visionary pose, accompanied by a reptile on his shoulders. The poster also highlights that the film is produced by the same team behind the successful films Salaga and Bheema, including contributions from music director Charan Raj, dialogue writer Masthi, and cinematographer Shiv Sena.
Vijay Kumar expressed his enthusiasm about partnering with Vetri Vel. While the genre of VK 30 remains undisclosed, Kumar confirmed that it will not follow the gangster film theme of his recent work. He praised Vetri Vel, stating, “Vetri has been with me for the last couple of years and understands the pulse of my acting. We are like-minded, and I view an associate director as a crucial pillar of any project. Vetri is incredibly talented, and I am committed to nurturing the growth of my technicians.”
Currently, Kumar is also working on another project, VK 29, directed by Jadeshaa K Hampi, with half of the shooting already completed. After finishing VK 29, he will shift his focus to VK 30. Regarding future directorial pursuits, Kumar indicated that he plans to concentrate on acting for the time being and will take a hiatus from directing.
