Bob Odenkirk will return as Hutch Mansell in the highly anticipated sequel, Nobody 2, slated for release on August 15, 2025. The film follows the success of the 2021 action thriller Nobody, which marked Odenkirk’s notable shift from comedic roles to action stardom.
The original Nobody film gained acclaim for its dark humor, intense action sequences, and compelling storyline, earning both critical praise and solid box office returns. The sequel will be directed by Timo Tjahjanto, known for his intense and visceral action and horror films such as The Night Comes For Us and May The Devil Take You. Tjahjanto’s distinct style is expected to bring a new level of stylized action and complex character development to Nobody 2.
Derek Kolstad, the creator of the original Nobody and the John Wick series, will return as the screenwriter for the sequel. Although plot details are still under wraps, the sequel will likely delve deeper into Hutch Mansell’s backstory and his life after embracing violence once more. The film is expected to explore the repercussions of Hutch’s return to his violent past and the impact on his family.
Sharon Stone has been cast in a major villain role, and Colin Hanks will play a corrupt sheriff, adding new layers of conflict and chaos to Hutch’s world. The addition of these characters suggests a mix of high-octane action and character-driven drama as Hutch navigates the dangers of his double life.
Nobody 2 will be produced by Kelly McCormick and David Leitch under their 87North banner, with Bob Odenkirk contributing through his Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment. Universal Pictures, managed by Jay Polidoro and Tony Ducret, will oversee the film’s production.
The original Nobody, directed by Ilya Naishuller, was an unexpected success, grossing over $57 million worldwide despite being released during the COVID-19 pandemic. With a year to go until its release, anticipation is building for the continuation of Hutch Mansell’s thrilling journey.
