Renowned Marathi actress Suhasini Deshpande has passed away, leaving a void in the Indian film industry. Deshpande’s final rites are scheduled to be held today, August 28, at the Vaikunth crematorium in Pune. In addition to her extensive work in regional cinema, Deshpande also made notable contributions to Bollywood. Her last cinematic role was in Rohit Shetty’s 2011 hit Singham, where she played the grandmother of Kajal Aggarwal’s character, Kavya.
Deshpande’s illustrious career was recognized in 2015 when she received the Jayant Rao Tilak Smriti Jeevangaurav Award from the Pune Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad, honoring her lifetime achievements in drama and cinema.
