Paramount+ has released the trailer for “Apartment 7A,” a prequel to the iconic 1968 film “Rosemary’s Baby,” directed by Roman Polanski. The film stars Julia Garner as Terri Gionoffrio, a dancer who relocates to New York with high hopes, only to face a career setback after an onstage injury. Her fortunes seem to change when she is invited to live in a luxurious apartment by a wealthy elderly couple, portrayed by Dianne Wiest and Kevin McNally. However, Terri soon becomes uneasy, sensing something is amiss.
The trailer reveals that Terri, troubled by mysterious occurrences and physical symptoms, seeks counsel from a nun who warns her about the apartment’s sinister history. This echoes the original film, where a character named Terry, whom Rosemary (played by Mia Farrow) meets in a laundry room, is revealed to have died by suicide from the seventh floor of the building. The elderly couple, the Castevets, are suspected of malevolent activities. “Apartment 7A” is set to premiere on September 27 this year.
