IFC Films has unveiled the official US trailer for “Memoir of a Snail,” a stop-motion animated film by acclaimed animator Adam Elliot. The film, scheduled for US release on October 25, 2024, marks Elliot’s return to feature filmmaking 15 years after his Oscar-winning “Harvie Krumpet” and the critically acclaimed “Mary and Max.”

Set in 1970s Australia, “Memoir of a Snail” follows Grace Pudel, a melancholic woman with a penchant for snails, romance novels, and guinea pigs. Grace’s life, marked by misfortune and loss, is further complicated by the death of her mother and the subsequent separation from her twin brother Gilbert. Raised by their paraplegic, alcoholic father Percy until his death, Grace and Gilbert are sent to different homes, facing a series of hardships.
