Film enthusiasts are abuzz after the release of the trailer for the upcoming horror film, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare. This latest project from the creators of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey reimagines the classic Peter Pan, with Martin Portlock taking on the role of the iconic character. Although the character, originally created by J.M. Barrie in 1902, is in the public domain, Disney’s version remains under copyright.
Set to debut next year, the film centers on Wendy Darling, portrayed by Megan Placito, who embarks on a perilous journey to rescue her brother Michael (played by Peter Desouza-Feighoney) from the malevolent clutches of Peter Pan. The trailer hints at disturbing scenes, including a drug-using Tinkerbell (Kit Green) and a chilling abduction of a child by the “evil Peter Pan.”
Directed by Scott Jeffrey and produced by Jagged Edge Productions, the film also features Nicholas Woodeson, Kierston Wareing, Olumide Olorunfemi, Teresa Banham, Charity Kase, and Campbell Wallace. Jeffrey describes the film as “vicious” and “dark,” contrasting it sharply with their previous work. He told, “This film is the darkest of our ‘Poohniverse’ creations. Peter Pan, in this version, is the most twisted, cruel, and cunning.”
Horror fans are already expressing their enthusiasm, with one viewer praising the trailer and Jeffrey’s direction, eagerly anticipating the film’s release.
