In recent developments, the release date for Akshay Kumar’s upcoming action drama, Sky Force, has been postponed. Initially set for release on January 24, 2025, the film is now scheduled to debut on Republic Day, aligning with its patriotic theme. Bollywood Hungama told that the film’s new release date has been confirmed, with an official announcement expected shortly.
An unnamed source stating, “Sky Force is slated for a Republic Day release on January 24, 2025. Given its patriotic nature, this timing is deemed ideal for its audience. An official announcement will follow soon.”
The film, directed by Sandeep Kewlani, completed its shoot in April. A viral photo shared by Kewlani on social media depicted Kumar and the film’s crew celebrating the end of production. The shoot lasted for 100 days, with Kumar completing his portions in 60 days.
Sky Force will also introduce Veer Pahariya, the maternal grandson of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. Produced by Amar Kaushik, Keval Shah, and Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films and Jio Studios, the movie features Pahariya alongside Kumar and actress Nirmat Kaur. The film is based on the true story of India’s first and most dangerous airstrike.
Additionally, Kumar will collaborate with director Priyadarshan on a separate project.The first look motion poster for this new venture will be unveiled on September 9, which coincides with Kumar’s birthday. The one-minute teaser will introduce the film’s title and provide a preview of Kumar’s role. Priyadarshan has been actively involved in finalizing the motion poster, with recent efforts focused on its completion.
