Levi McConaughey, the 16-year-old son of Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey, will make his acting debut in the forthcoming film Way of the Warrior Kid. Levi will appear alongside Chris Pratt, who is cast in a supporting role. The film, based on Jocko Willink’s popular book, is shrouded in secrecy regarding its plot details.
The film is directed by McG (Joseph McGinty Nichol) and penned by Will Staples. Recent reports noted that Matthew McConaughey was spotted on set last month, visiting his son, who was dressed in a red flannel, navy T-shirt, and blue jeans.
McConaughey spoke about how fatherhood has influenced his craft. The actor revealed that becoming a parent has enhanced his abilities as an artist. “Having children, I know has made me a better artist and has made me a better actor, because kids see things for the first time all the time. Their questions are innocent,” McConaughey said.
He elaborated on how fatherhood has refined his storytelling skills. “I become a better storyteller because I have kids,” he explained. “When I come home from work on something like True Detective, and my 4-year-old asks, ‘What’d you do today?’ I cannot tell them what the show’s really about; it’s not age-appropriate. So, I have to craft a parable for them.”
McConaughey emphasized that this process has helped him improve his storytelling techniques, making his narratives more accessible and engaging for younger audiences.
