Amazon has released the first trailer for Citadel: Diana, the latest spin-off in its popular spy franchise, set to debut on Prime Video on October 10. This series is the second spin-off following the announcement of Citadel: Honey Bunny, which will premiere in November. The new trailer showcases high-octane action sequences and introduces viewers to advanced futuristic technology, as the series is set in Milan in 2030. The show stars Matilda De Angelis as Diana Cavalieri, alongside Lorenzo Cervasio, Maurizio Lombardi, Julia Piaton, and Thekla Reuten. Written by Alessandro Fabbri and directed by Arnaldo Catinari, Citadel: Diana promises to build on the franchise’s signature action and tech-savvy elements.
In contrast to Citadel: Honey Bunny, which explores the past in 1990s India, Diana advances the timeline with a futuristic setting. Despite mixed reviews for the first season of Citadel, which received a 51% critic score and a 63% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, its strong viewership has led to additional spin-offs.
The Russo brothers, renowned for their work on Marvel’s Avengers series, produce both spin-offs, with Joe Russo also directing an episode in Citadel Season 2. They are also set to direct the forthcoming Avengers films, Doomsday and Secret Wars, with Robert Downey Jr. returning in a new role as Doctor Doom.
Citadel: Diana premieres October 10.
