by Barbara

Taylor Swift emerged as the biggest winner at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, clinching the coveted Video of the Year trophy for her song “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone. The ceremony, held at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, saw Swift’s career total of VMA wins rise to 30, tying her with Beyoncé for the most awards in VMA history.

In her acceptance speech for Video of the Year, Swift expressed gratitude towards NFL star Travis Kelce, who appeared in the “Fortnight” music video. “Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic,” Swift said. She also used the platform to encourage fans over 18 to register to vote in the 2024 presidential election, though she refrained from discussing Kamala Harris’ presidential bid, which she had endorsed earlier in the evening following Harris’ debate with former President Donald Trump.
