by Barbara

Gary Oldman has addressed the potential of returning to the Wizarding World in the forthcoming Harry Potter TV series. The acclaimed actor, who portrayed Sirius Black in the original film franchise, was recently asked about his involvement during the 2024 Emmy Awards.

As HBO prepares to launch a new series that will reimagine J.K. Rowling’s iconic story over seven seasons, the excitement around casting is already building, with roles for Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley currently being sought.

Oldman revealed that he has not been approached to reprise his role as Sirius Black. He noted that his character had a relatively minor presence in the overarching narrative, leading him to doubt that he would return as Sirius.

However, Oldman expressed interest in taking on a different character—Albus Dumbledore. “I would bet my money that they will get a whole new cast of people,” he remarked, suggesting that in the future, he could see himself stepping into the role of Dumbledore.
