Netflix has unveiled the trailer for its latest time travel slasher horror film, Time Cut, featuring the intriguing tagline, “To stop this killer, they’ll need to rewrite history.”
The plot centers on Lucy Field, a teenage girl who ventures back to the early 2000s in a desperate attempt to prevent the brutal murder of her sister, Summer. The film explores the question: “Can she change the past without destroying the future?”
Lucy, portrayed by Madison Bailey, is a high school science prodigy who stumbles upon a time machine. Motivated by the haunting memory of her sister’s murder, she embarks on a journey to alter the course of history. The film promises a thrilling experience as Lucy grapples with the challenges of surviving the early 2000s while trying to unmask the killer. The fate of her own life hangs in the balance, leading to the chilling question: “Will she say ‘Bye Bye Bye’ to her life?”
Time Cut shares thematic similarities with the time travel horror film Freaky, which also features a similar narrative framework. The film is directed by Hannah Macpherson, known for her work on Sickhouse and T@gged.
In addition to Bailey and Antonia Gentry, the cast includes Michael Shanks, Griffin Gluck, Rachael Crawford, Jordan Pettle, Megan Best, Samuel Braun, Sydney Sabiston, and Kataem O’Connor.
Time Cut is set to premiere on Netflix on October 30, 2024, promising a unique blend of horror and time travel intrigue.
