After a remarkable 34-year career in the entertainment industry, actor Rayson Tan has announced his departure from Mediacorp to pursue freelance acting. In an Instagram post, Tan expressed his desire to seek a lifestyle and work environment that aligns more closely with his current mindset.
“I have decided to step out of my comfort zone and embark on a new journey as a freelance actor,” he wrote, emphasizing that his passion for acting remains steadfast. “I will continue to explore new possibilities while staying true to my original aspirations.”
Tan expressed gratitude towards his colleagues at The Celebrity Agency and expressed enthusiasm for future collaborations with various production teams.
Rayson Tan first entered the Singapore entertainment scene in 1990, securing third place in the renowned Star Search competition. Since then, he has appeared in numerous television shows and received multiple nominations for the prestigious Star Awards. One of his most memorable performances was portraying Singapore war hero Lim Bo Seng in the acclaimed 1997 World War II drama series, “The Price of Peace.”
