Wallace & Gromit Return with New Film: ‘Vengeance Most Fowl’

by Barbara

In an exciting announcement on Wednesday, Wallace & Gromit unveiled the trailer and release date for their upcoming film, Vengeance Most Fowl. This marks the beloved claymation duo’s anticipated return to the big screen.

Directed by Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham, the film brings back the notorious chicken villain, Feathers McGraw, who seeks revenge after his appearance in the Oscar-winning short The Wrong Trousers (1993).

Vengeance Most Fowl, announced by the BBC earlier this summer, will make its world premiere at AFI Fest on October 27. Following a limited theatrical release in December, the film is set to debut globally on Netflix on January 3.

In this new installment, Gromit becomes increasingly concerned about Wallace’s growing reliance on his inventions. His worries come to fruition when Wallace creates a “smart” garden gnome that appears to develop a mind of its own. As the plot thickens and Feathers McGraw’s sinister influence surfaces, Gromit is left to confront the dark forces at play in order to save Wallace and his inventive legacy.

The film boasts a cast of new and returning voices, including Ben Whitehead, British comedian Peter Kay, Lauren Patel, and Reece Shearsmith, alongside special cameos from Diane Morgan, Adjoa Andoh, and Sir Lenny Henry.

Nick Park, the Oscar-winning creator behind Wallace & Gromit, revealed that the concept of garden gnomes turning evil had been on his mind for over a decade. “The most frequently asked question I receive from fans is whether Feathers McGraw, Wallace and Gromit’s original antagonist, would ever return,” he noted. “After having fun featuring him in cameo roles, it felt like the perfect time to bring him back. The idea struck me: What if Feathers was involved with these gnomes?”
