In a thrilling development for horror enthusiasts, Justin Long, known for his roles in Barbarian, and WWE superstar CM Punk, recognized for his performance in Girl on the Third Floor, have been cast in the upcoming horror film Night Patrol.
The film will also feature a talented ensemble cast, including Jermaine Fowler, Dermot Mulroney, RJ Cyler, Freddie Gibbs, YG, Flying Lotus, Jon Oswald, and Nicki Micheaux.
In Night Patrol, Jermaine Fowler plays an LAPD officer who must set aside his differences with local street gangs when he uncovers a shocking secret harbored by a police task force. This revelation poses a significant threat to the residents of the housing projects where he grew up.
Producers David S. Goyer and Keith Levine are collaborating through their production company, Phantom Four. Joining them in producing are Josh Goldbloom, known for his work on the recent V/H/S horror entries, as well as James Harris and Mark Lane from Tea Shop Films, recognized for their work on 47 Meters Down. The film recently completed principal photography in Los Angeles.
Directed by Ryan Prows, known for Lowlife and V/H/S/94, Night Patrol boasts a screenplay co-written by Prows, Shaye Ogbonna (Fight Night), Tim Cairo (Off Ramp), and Jake Gibson (He Bled Neon). Prows expressed his excitement about the film, stating, “Audiences are not ready for how hard this movie goes. To shoot this script, with this cast, on location in LA, after such a long path to get here is nothing short of a dream.”
