Apple Original Films has released the trailer for its forthcoming documentary, “Bread & Roses,” which examines the profound impact of the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul in 2021 on women’s rights and livelihoods. The film is set to premiere globally on Apple TV+ on November 22, 2024.
Directed by Sahra Mani, “Bread & Roses” follows the journeys of three Afghan women as they navigate the challenges of reclaiming their autonomy in a rapidly changing society. Mani’s direction offers an unflinching portrayal of the resilience and spirit of Afghan women amidst their harrowing circumstances.
Produced in association with the Eyan Foundation and Extracurricular, the documentary features the talents of Jennifer Lawrence and Justine Ciarrocchi. Executive producers include notable figures Malala Yousafzai and Farhad Khosravi.
