On the opening day of New York Comic Con, a captivating new trailer was released for Dune: Prophecy, an upcoming six-episode spinoff series serving as a prequel to Denis Villeneuve’s acclaimed Dune films.
The series is set to debut on November 17 at 9 PM on HBO, with subsequent episodes available for streaming on Max every Sunday following their television broadcast.
Dune: Prophecy draws its inspiration from Sisterhood of Dune, a novel by Kevin J. Anderson and Brian Herbert, the son of the legendary science fiction author Frank Herbert. This new HBO series transports viewers 10,000 years into the past, before the rise of Paul Atreides, focusing on the emergence of the Bene Gesserit as a dominant force.
The narrative centers around the two Harkonnen sisters, Valya and Tula, portrayed by Emily Watson and Olivia Williams. These sisters lay the groundwork for the sisterhood that ultimately evolves into the Bene Gesserit—a powerful organization of women who wield significant social, spiritual, and political influence in their quest to control and shape the universe. The series also features a talented cast, including Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, and Mark Strong.
