Shudder has released the official trailer for its upcoming thriller Black Cab, featuring Nick Frost, known for his role in Shaun of the Dead. The film is set to stream starting Friday, November 8.
The trailer showcases Frost in the role of a sinister cab driver who kidnaps a woman and embarks on a terrifying journey along a haunted road. The woman’s nightmare intensifies as she is relentlessly haunted by the ghost of a desperate woman, adding layers of horror to her already harrowing experience.
Directed by Bruce Goodison, Black Cab boasts a screenplay by David Michael Emerson, with contributions from Nick Frost and Virginia Gilbert. The cast includes Synnøve Karlsen, Luke Norris, George Bukhari, Teresa Parr, and Tilly Woodward. The film is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Stolen Pictures, with Michaela Fereday and Lucy Robinson serving as executive producers, alongside producer Jan Roldanus.
The film’s synopsis reveals that after a night out, Anne (Karlsen) and Patrick (Norris) find themselves in a black cab driven by Frost’s character, who appears jovial and chatty. However, the couple is far from engaged in conversation, barely on speaking terms with one another. Their unsettling reality unfolds as they realize the driver has no intention of taking them home. Trapped inside the cab with no escape, they are transported to a desolate and reportedly haunted road. The question looms: what is the driver’s true motive? Is he simply mad or genuinely evil? And why has he chosen Anne and Patrick as his targets?
With its chilling premise and a talented cast, Black Cab promises to deliver a suspenseful cinematic experience for horror enthusiasts.
