On October 30, it reported that Netflix and Universal Studios have reached a new cooperation.

Starting from 2027, Universal’s live-action movies will be available on the Netflix platform within eight months after their theatrical release.

Additionally, Netflix has renewed exclusive licensing agreements with Illumination and DreamWorks Animation under Universal, bringing popular films like “The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2,” “Shrek 5,” and “Despicable Me 3” to further enrich its animation library.

According to the new agreement, live-action films from Universal and Focus Features will land on Netflix within eight months after their theater premieres. Netflix will exclusively stream Universal’s live-action movies for ten months before they return to Peacock under NBC.Netflix emphasizes that providing diverse content is at the core of its strategy to ensure fresh TV shows, movies, and games for viewers all year round.
