The sci-fi film “Mickey17,” directed by Bong Joon-ho and starring Robert Pattinson, has released its first official trailer. It tells a story of “a magpie taking over another magpie’s nest”: He has died and come back to life several times. When he comes back to life again, he discovers that there is another version of himself alive?
The film’s style is described as a combination of “The Martian” and “Dark Matter.” Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, Naomi Ackie, and Steven Yeun also star. It will be released in North America on January 31 next year.
The story is adapted from the novel “Mickey7” by Edward Ashton. The original work tells the story of a man named Mickey7 embarking on a colonial journey to Niflheim, a frozen land. He is a disposable “expendable” who is hired specifically to take on high-risk tasks. After his death, he will be reborn as a clone, retaining most of his memories. This time, he is also presumed dead. Then, when he returns to the mission base, he finds that a new clone, Mickey8, has taken his place. Mickey7 decides to resist.
