The trailer for “The Girl with the Needle” has been released. Set in 1919 Copenhagen, it tells the story of a pregnant, unemployed young woman who encounters an underground adoption agency with a darker truth. Directed by Magnus von Horn and featuring a notable cast, the black and white trailer builds tension.
The protagonist faces an obstacle when denied “widow supplement” due to lacking her husband’s death certificate. Early reviews are positive with a 91% Tomatometer score. If it maintains tension upon its December 6 release, it could be a strong contender for major awards like Best International Film at the Oscars, as it also tackles relevant social issues.
