Disney has revealed the official synopsis of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”, confirming that Marvel’s First Family will encounter Galactus and Silver Surfer in their first MCU movie. Set in a 1960s-inspired alternate universe, the film will see Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm facing off against Galactus, the main villain, and his Herald, Silver Surfer.
The synopsis implies that Galactus and Silver Surfer’s goals might differ this time, and there could be another villain involved. The mention of the conflict getting “very personal” hints at the possible appearance of Doctor Doom, who has a long-standing grudge against the Fantastic Four.
If Doctor Doom is indeed part of the story, the Phase 5 movie could resemble previous Fantastic Four films. Despite repeating certain elements, it doesn’t seem to be an issue for the MCU reboot.
