In the exciting world of movie adaptations, a new project is on the horizon that’s catching the attention of many. The upcoming film adaptation of the young adult fantasy romance novel, “Shiver”, has welcomed a Marvel star to its cast, along with six other talented actors.
The “Twilight” book series, written by Stephanie Meyer, became a massive hit, leading to popular movie adaptations. Its paranormal romance and love triangle elements have left a lasting impression. “Shiver”, first published in 2009, follows a different yet equally engaging story. It tells of Grace, who was saved by a yellow-eyed wolf as a child and later meets Sam with the same eye color, sparking a love story reminiscent of “Twilight”.
Maddie Ziegler and Levi Miller were previously cast as Grace and Sam. Ziegler is known for various works, and Miller has an impressive acting resume too. Now, as reported by Deadline, Ms. Marvel’s Iman Vellani has joined the cast in a supporting role. She’s joined by the likes of former Academy Award nominee Greg Kinnear, Alicia Witt, Ross Butler, Alexander Ludgwig, Sofia Wylie, and Lyon Daniels.
The production of “Shiver” in Vancouver is already underway, with Claire McCarthy at the helm. This assembled cast holds great promise. Vellani’s casting is a milestone as it’s her first non-Marvel role, adding intrigue. Kinnear’s presence also boosts the supporting cast. With a decade since the last “Twilight” movie, “Shiver” has the potential to introduce its story to a new audience and could even be the next big thing in the fantasy romance genre. Even if it doesn’t reach the heights of “Twilight”, seeing Vellani in a new role will be worthwhile.
