Actor and director Andy Serkis talks about the potential return of Knull, the villain he played in Venom: The Last Dance, in future Marvel movies. After Knull’s plans were thwarted in the movie by Venom’s sacrifice, Serkis reveals that his casting as Knull was a last-minute addition. When asked if Knull could return to fight Spider-Man later, he said he’d be interested in doing so.
What his comments mean is that Venom: The Last Dance might have just started Knull’s story. Despite Venom’s sacrifice, the mid-credits and post-credits scenes suggest the threat isn’t over. In Marvel lore, Knull is a major antagonist like Thanos in the King in Black storyline, which makes him a good candidate for a multiversal crossover involving the MCU’s Spider-Man.
A crossover between Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Sony’s Spider-Man Universe seems likely due to Spider-Man’s connection with the symbiote in the comics. And a King in Black adaptation with the multiverse could bring Knull and Venom back and give the MCU’s Spider-Man an important part in the plot.
