Taron Egerton has shared new hope for the future of the Kingsman franchise, contradicting a recent statement from 20th Century Studios. While the Kingsman series, consisting of two main films and a prequel, saw strong box office success with over $414 million from the first movie, the subsequent films didn’t reach the same heights. Spinoffs and a third installment, titled Kingsman: The Blue Blood, had been in development, but in October, Steve Asbell, president of 20th Century Studios, stated there were no immediate plans for a new movie.
However, in a recent interview, Egerton suggested that there may still be hope for another Kingsman film. He and director Matthew Vaughn are eager to bring the franchise back for one final chapter. Although a production date is not yet set, Egerton remains optimistic about the possibility of moving forward with the project.
Egerton’s comments suggest the Kingsman franchise isn’t finished just yet. Vaughn is reportedly working on a script for the third film, and Asbell’s statement could be attributed to the absence of a finalized script rather than any lack of interest. With both Egerton and Vaughn committed to the idea, a third movie could soon be on the horizon.
Fans of the series may be hopeful that Kingsman 3 will offer a fitting conclusion for Eggsy, the character who has captured audiences since the first film. While the trajectory of the franchise remains uncertain, Egerton’s renewed enthusiasm gives fans a reason to remain optimistic about the future of Kingsman.
