The One Chicago crossover event, where Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med come together, has an early 2025 release date set for January 29 at 8 p.m. local time. It’ll be a three-part story starting with Chicago Fire, followed by Chicago Med, and ending with Chicago P.D. The plot involves a gas explosion at a high-rise, trapping 40 people underground including two franchise characters, prompting the first responders to race against time.
Executive producer Anastasia Puglisi described it as a “three-hour action movie” that’s ambitious and requires coordination across departments.
This crossover is the first major one since 2019’s “Infection” trilogy and the first between any of the shows since 2020. It’ll likely create new character tandems and presents a dire situation for the crews to handle.
It is a promising event, being the biggest in six years. It can strengthen the shows’ connections and, with its high-octane sequences, start the year off well for all three series.
