The official trailer for Bhaggyolokkhi, the upcoming thriller directed by Mainak Bhaumik, has been released, offering a chilling glimpse into a family’s descent into a nightmarish world of crime and deception.
Set against the backdrop of an ordinary middle-class household, Bhaggyolokkhi follows the lives of Satya and Kaberi Ganguly, a married couple in their mid-30s. Trapped in the monotony of daily life and the financial stress of sending their son to school in Delhi, their seemingly quiet existence is violently uprooted when an unexpected tragedy strikes.
Satya, a man who is already grappling with the pressures of his everyday life, is confronted with an enigmatic visitor—Sayan, an old acquaintance from his school days. Although barely recognizable, Sayan manages to secure an overnight stay. The next morning, Satya’s life is forever changed when Sayan mysteriously dies of a drug overdose in their home, leaving behind a suitcase filled with cash.
As the couple explores the contents of the suitcase, they unknowingly find themselves embroiled in a dangerous underworld of heroin trafficking, leading them into a dark, unpredictable spiral. What begins as an ordinary day for the Gangulys transforms into a deadly game of survival.
The cast of Bhaggyolokkhi includes Ritwick Chakraborty, Solanki Roy, Ratan Sarkhel, Swastika Datta, Loknath De, Neel Mukherjee, Subrata Datta, and Debopriyo Mukherjee.
Speaking about the film, director Mainak Bhaumik explained his vision: “I wanted to create a story about an ordinary middle-class couple and thrust them into a world of crime and fantasy. Bhaggyolokkhi is a blend of real-life drama that evolves into a fantastical journey for the people involved. It explores how an ordinary life can rapidly transform into something unrecognizable.”
With its gripping premise and unpredictable twists, Bhaggyolokkhi promises to be a thrilling ride, delving deep into the complexities of human nature when faced with life-altering choices. The film is set to leave audiences questioning what would happen if fate knocked on their door with a crime they never saw coming.
