Tulsa King Season 3 Return: Sylvester Stallone Confirms

by Barbara Miller

After the shocking finale of season 2, Sylvester Stallone has officially announced his return for Tulsa King season 3. This hit crime drama, created by Taylor Sheridan of “Yellowstone” fame for the Paramount+ streaming service, has drawn significant viewership. In fact, season 2’s release set a new record for the service’s premiere day statistics. Back in November, there were reports that Stallone was in talks to return as Mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi, with an expected two-season deal covering Tulsa King seasons 3 and 4.

Now, Stallone has seemingly wrapped up those negotiations. He took to Instagram to build excitement for his return in season 3, sharing a behind-the-scenes image of a script page from season 2 and captioning it, “Well, it is time to get ready for NEXT SEASON ON TULSA KING … Go Team Go!”

What Stallone’s return means for Tulsa King’s future is quite significant. The show has already been a remarkable success story for Paramount+. This marks Stallone’s first leading role in a scripted TV series, and the audience’s response to his shift from being a big-screen action hero to a television mafioso has been extremely positive. Given the warm reception of the first two seasons, it’s no wonder Paramount+ is eager to have him back for season 3 and potentially beyond. Moreover, with this new deal, Stallone will likely have more creative say in the show’s direction going forward.

While it’s currently unclear if his post also signals his return for Tulsa King season 4 as earlier reports suggested, this confirmation of season 3 will surely be a relief to fans who are eager to see how the story unfolds after the shocking ending of season 2. It also bodes well for plans to expand the franchise further. Season 2 writer Terence Winter previously dropped hints about the possibility of a spinoff show set in New Orleans.

Dwight’s journey in Tulsa King season 3 is no stranger to getting out of tough spots. In the season 2 finale, Stallone’s character managed to take care of most of his main adversaries like Jackie Ming and Chickie. However, his unexpected kidnapping at the end of the show is bound to make fans excited for season 3’s premiere. But given that he’s already shown time and again that he can escape from a seemingly endless array of difficult and often life-threatening situations, there’s little doubt that Dwight will find a way to turn this latest predicament to his advantage when Tulsa King season 3 airs.
