A first-look trailer for the upcoming action fantasy film In the Lost Lands has been released, offering a glimpse into the high-stakes adventure that lies ahead. Based on a short story by Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin, the movie stars Milla Jovovich as the sorceress Gray Alys and Dave Bautista as her reluctant guide, Boyce.
Set in a desolate, ghostly wilderness known as the Lost Lands, the film follows the powerful Gray Alys, who is sent on a dangerous mission by a Queen. Her goal is to find a magical power, but she must rely on Boyce to navigate the treacherous terrain filled with both human and supernatural threats.
The official film description teases, “A Queen sends the powerful and feared sorceress Gray Alys to the ghostly wilderness of the Lost Lands in search of a magical power, where the sorceress and her guide, the drifter Boyce, must outwit and outfight man and demon.”
The trailer, which premiered on YouTube, opens with Boyce introducing the perilous journey ahead as he engages in a gunfight against multiple ominous foes. “The world you know is gone, consumed by the flames of a great war long ago,” he warns. “All that’s left now are the Lost Lands.” His narration sets the stage for the duo’s perilous journey.
Gray Alys, seeking a guide, approaches Boyce with a proposal: to lead her to a “great treasure, an immense power.” What follows is a gripping adventure filled with demonic creatures, fire, violence, and intense confrontations. The trailer teases a particularly memorable showdown, including a chilling two-headed snake and a villainous declaration: “She has become a symbol of their defiance. This woman needs to die.”
Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, known for his work on Resident Evil, In the Lost Lands is slated for a U.S. release on March 7, 2025. The film’s UK release date has yet to be confirmed.
Jovovich’s involvement with the project dates back to 2015, when she was reportedly in final talks to take on the lead role. She will be joined on screen by Dave Bautista, along with Arly Jover, Amara Okereke, Fraser James, and Deirdre Mullins.
