“Daaku Maharaaj” Sees Dip in Day 2 Box Office Collections

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s much-anticipated film Daaku Maharaaj experienced a decline in its box office earnings on its second day of release, recording a notable drop on the first Monday. The film, which premiered on January 12, grossed nearly ₹40 crore in its initial two days.

On opening day, Daaku Maharaaj grossed ₹25.35 crore. However, its second-day earnings fell to an estimated ₹13.50 crore, bringing the film’s total to ₹38.85 crore. Despite the dip, the movie still managed an overall occupancy rate of 39.76% in Telugu-speaking regions on Monday. The film has garnered mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike.

The film’s production company, Sithara Entertainments, confirmed that the movie achieved a milestone on its opening day, grossing ₹56 crore worldwide. The announcement, made via a post on X (formerly Twitter), hailed the movie as a “Thunderous BLOCKBUSTER,” marking Balakrishna’s highest opening. The tweet celebrated the film’s success with the message: “Daaku Maharaaj sets the box office on fire and owns SANKRANTHI with Thunderous BLOCKBUSTER. 56 Crores+ Worldwide Gross on DAY 1.

Following the film’s opening, Balakrishna and his co-stars celebrated the success at a party attended by Urvashi Rautela, Vishwak Sen, Siddhu Jonnalagadda, and others. A video shared by Vishwak Sen showed Balakrishna affectionately kissing him and Siddhu on the cheek, while expressing that the success of the film was a collective achievement. Urvashi Rautela also posted a video of her dancing to the movie’s controversial track, Dabidi Dibidi, at the celebration.

Daaku Maharaaj stars Balakrishna in the role of a dacoit, who is dubbed “Daaku Maharaaj,” alongside a cast that includes Bobby Deol, Urvashi Rautela, Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Srinath, and Chandhini Chowdary. This film marks Bobby Deol’s debut in Telugu cinema. Directed and written by Bobby Kolli, the film is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, with music composed by S Thaman.

While the film’s box office performance has been robust in its opening days, its future trajectory remains uncertain as it faces competition from other films during the Sankranti festival period.
