With Captain America: Brave New World set to hit theaters in just over a month, Marvel Studios has dropped three exciting new trailers ahead of ticket sales. The latest promotional materials showcase thrilling action sequences and offer fresh insights into Sam Wilson’s evolution as the new Captain America.
The first of the three trailers is an IMAX preview, which features several key scenes presented in the expanded ratio known for those screens. The trailer highlights awe-inspiring action, including a pivotal moment set in Tiamut’s remains. This location promises to be one of the most breathtaking setpieces the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has ever seen.
Following the IMAX trailer, a Japanese sneak peek has been released, reusing much of the footage from the IMAX preview. The trailer opens with a look back at Sam Wilson’s journey, particularly revisiting the iconic moment from Avengers: Endgame when Steve Rogers handed him the shield, solidifying Wilson’s path to becoming Captain America.
In addition, a leaked 4DX trailer has surfaced online. While the quality isn’t optimal, it offers some exciting new action shots that fans will want to watch closely.
As the movie approaches its release, fans can expect more previews, possibly during next month’s Super Bowl, when Marvel Studios may unveil the final official trailer.
In a recent interview, Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson, shared his thoughts on what sets his version of Captain America apart from Steve Rogers. “It’s very different with the serum – you can fight anybody,” Mackie explained. “When you don’t have the serum, you have to be smart and engineer different ways of defeating enemies. With Sam, him being a counselor, he uses more of his brains than brawn. He uses more of his wit than his fist. He’s more of a friend to everyone.”
Mackie also discussed the high-tech suit Sam wears, which was gifted to him by Wakanda. “I went to Wakanda, met with everybody in Wakanda, we had dinner. It was a great time. They threw me a welcome party. It was dope. But when I was leaving, they gave me a suit, right? I put it on. I can kick harder, I can fly faster, and it gives me the ability to be more agile in my skills, so it’s taking all my skills to a completely different level.”
In Captain America: Brave New World, Sam Wilson, after meeting with U.S. President Thaddeus Ross (played by Harrison Ford in his MCU debut), finds himself embroiled in an international incident. He must uncover the truth behind a global conspiracy before the mastermind behind it sparks a worldwide crisis.
The movie features an impressive cast, including Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, and Giancarlo Esposito. Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Harrison Ford also star. Directed by Julius Onah, the film is produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, with Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth serving as executive producers.
Captain America: Brave New World is scheduled for release in U.S. theaters on February 14, 2025.
