First Trailer for Blumhouse’s The Woman in the Yard Unveiled

by Barbara

Blumhouse has released the first chilling trailer for The Woman in the Yard, an upcoming horror film that promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

The film centers on Ramona, played by Danielle Deadwyler (Till, The Harder They Fall), a grieving mother struggling to care for her two children after a devastating car accident takes the life of her husband. Isolated in their rural farmhouse, Ramona’s fragile reality is upended when a mysterious, spectral woman, portrayed by Okwui Okpokwasili (The Exorcist: Believer), appears on their lawn. Cloaked in black, the eerie figure delivers a cryptic message: “Today’s the day.” Initially, Ramona assumes the woman is lost or ill, but as the figure draws nearer and refuses to leave, it becomes clear that her intentions are far darker.

Collet-Serra has had a diverse career, with credits spanning from thrillers like The Shallows and Run All Night to blockbuster films such as Jungle Cruise and Black Adam. The Woman in the Yard features a screenplay by Sam Stefanak, marking his debut in feature film writing.
