Starz has dropped the highly anticipated first teaser trailer for Spartacus: House of Ashur, a thrilling sequel to the beloved Spartacus series. The new installment promises to usher in a “new era” of gladiatorial combat, with an emphasis on the bloodshed and brutal violence fans have come to expect from the franchise.
The official synopsis teases a dramatic twist on the familiar Spartacus storyline. “What if Ashur (Nick Tarabay) hadn’t perished on Mount Vesuvius at the conclusion of Spartacus: Vengeance?” the description asks. “What if he had been rewarded with the gladiator school once owned by Batiatus in exchange for his role in aiding the Romans to kill Spartacus and quash the slave rebellion?”
Joining the cast are Graham McTavish, who will portray Korris, Ashur’s Doctore, and Tenika Davis as Achillia, a fierce gladiatrix ready for battle.
Spartacus creator, writer, and executive producer Steven S. DeKnight returns as the showrunner and executive producer for House of Ashur.
The teaser also confirmed that the series will premiere this fall, setting the stage for what is expected to be another action-packed chapter in the Spartacus saga.
