Warner Bros. Pictures has unveiled the latest trailer for Companion, an intense thriller hitting theaters on January 31. The film, produced by New Line Cinema—the studio behind The Notebook—brings a fresh twist to the love story genre, courtesy of the creators of the unhinged hit Barbarian.
Directed and written by Drew Hancock, known for his work on My Dead Ex and Suburgatory, Companion stars a dynamic ensemble cast. The film features Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets, The Boogeyman), Jack Quaid (The Boys, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse), Lukas Gage (Smile 2, Dead Boy Detectives), Megan Suri (Never Have I Ever, It Lives Inside), Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows, Blue Beetle), and Rupert Friend (High Desert, Asteroid City).
The creative team behind Companion includes producers Raphael Margules, J.D. Lifshitz, Zach Cregger, and Roy Lee—prolific names in the world of horror, particularly known for Barbarian. Executive producers Tracy Rosenblum and Jamie Buckner round out the production team.
The film boasts a talented technical crew, with Eli Born (The Boogeyman, Hellraiser) serving as cinematographer and Scott Kuzio (Dumb Money, Fear Street trilogy) handling production design. Editors Brett W. Bachman (The Fall of the House of Usher, Pig) and Josh Ethier (Don’t Move, Orphan: First Kill) oversee the editing, while Vanessa Porter (The Toxic Avenger, Archive 81) designs the costumes. The music score is composed by Hrishikesh Hirway (Song Exploder, Everything Sucks!), with Rob Lowry (Do Revenge, Miracle Workers) as music supervisor. The film’s casting director is Nancy Nayor (Saw X, Barbarian).
