Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino’s highly anticipated movie My Love Will Make You Disappear is set for a theatrical release across North America on March 28. The film will be shown in theaters throughout the United States and Canada.

This release marks a continued collaboration between ABS-CBN Films and their partners, Abramorama and AJMC, who were also responsible for distributing and marketing Hello, Love, Again. The film is part of a growing trend of Filipino cinema making its way to international audiences.

My Love Will Make You Disappear centers on Sari (played by Kim Chiu), a woman who believes she is cursed, as every man she loves mysteriously vanishes. Jolo (Paulo Avelino), a brooding landlord dealing with a struggling apartment complex, crosses paths with Sari as they both work to prevent a community from being displaced. However, Sari’s supposed curse threatens to derail their developing romance.

In the Philippines, the film will be released on March 26, with Chad Vidanes directing.

Both Chiu and Avelino have expressed their enthusiasm about the upcoming release. In a January interview, Chiu said, “It’s a date. Sana samahan nila kami. After all the successful blockbuster films of Star Cinema, kami ‘yung next. So praying and hoping na samahan kami ng madlang pipol.” Avelino echoed her excitement, adding, “Last year pa namin ina-announce ito, hanggang ngayon ginagawa pa rin namin. So I’m sure umaabot na sa rurok ‘yung excitement ng mga nag-aabang since day one.”

Director Chad Vidanes praised the chemistry between the two lead stars, describing it as “natural” and noting, “They’re one of the easiest loveteams I’ve worked with.” Vidanes also expressed his desire to deliver what the audience, especially Kim and Paulo’s fans, are eagerly anticipating in their first film together.
