Ben Jacoby, the writer behind The First Omen, is set to adapt the gripping Thomas Ray novella Silencer into a spy thriller for Paramount Pictures.
The story centers on a CIA field agent tasked with capturing a high-value target who has been off the radar for decades. This elusive figure, a relic from the shadowy MK Ultra era, is a “silencer” — a rare operative with the chilling ability to read minds and erase memories from a distance, making him nearly impossible to track or apprehend.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura, known for producing Transformers and Constantine, will produce the project under his first-look deal with Paramount. NeoText Corporation, the publisher of the novella, will also be involved, with Russell Ackerman, John Schoenfelder, and Jay Schuminsky producing. Greg Cohen will oversee development for di Bonaventura Pictures.
Jacoby’s recent work includes co-writing the adaptation of Alex North’s crime thriller The Whisper Man, which stars Robert De Niro and is slated for release on Netflix.
