Director Danny Cannon, known for I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and Judge Dredd, has been tapped to helm the upcoming psychological horror film Obey.
The film, penned by Brandon and Kurtis Birtell, revolves around an estranged couple forced to confront their fractured relationship as they struggle to save their son from a sadistic home intruder. The masked assailant, named Flip Face, demands that the couple “obey” his twisted commands if they ever want to see their son alive again, setting the stage for a high-stakes battle of wills in this gripping thriller.
Produced by Ross Dinerstein of Campfire Studios, Josh Kesselman of 1922, and Michael Sugar, the Oscar-winning producer behind Spotlight, for Sugar23, Obey will also feature Lindsay Macadam of Brain On Fire as a producer. Great Pacific Media will provide production services for the project. The film will be presented to buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin by Altitude.
Cannon, a seasoned director with experience on major TV series, including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Gotham, Pennyworth, Gotham Knights, and Nikita, will bring his sharp direction to the thrilling new project.
