“Bury the Devil” Breaks New Ground with Single-Take Horror

by Barbara

The upcoming horror film Bury the Devil, which has garnered attention for its innovative filming technique, is set to offer a fresh take on the exorcism genre. Blue Finch Films has acquired worldwide sales rights to the project, which recently wrapped production.

Directed by Adam O’Brien, Bury the Devil is described as a supernatural home invasion thriller. The plot follows a nurse who, while tending to her latest patient, uncovers disturbing secrets that lead her down a terrifying path. O’Brien explains that the decision to shoot the film in a single, unbroken take was driven by a desire to immerse viewers in the protagonist’s harrowing journey. “This film depicts the most harrowing 90 minutes of our protagonist’s life, and I felt that the most visceral way to really feel this was to do a single-shot film,” O’Brien said. “We are with her every step and misstep she takes – from the unraveling mystery to the horror of her discovery. It’s a fun, twisty roller-coaster ride that puts a new spin on exorcisms.”

The screenplay was penned by John Petrizzi and Brad Hodson. Produced by Delirium Pictures, Bury the Devil is set to make its debut on the festival circuit later this year.
