Actors Miles Teller and Casey Affleck are set to headline the gripping manhunt thriller Wild Game, with production slated to begin this spring. The film, directed by Oscar nominee Jason Hall, will explore the harrowing journey of vengeance and obsession.
Teller, who gained widespread acclaim for his role in Whiplash, is expected to appear next in the sci-fi action film The Gorge, alongside Anya Taylor-Joy. In addition to Wild Game, he is also attached to star in Michael, a biographical drama about Michael Jackson, and the romantic comedy Eternity with Elizabeth Olsen. Affleck, fresh off his performance in The Instigators opposite Matt Damon, will bring his acclaimed talent to this new project.
The film’s plot centers around Fish and Game officer Jack Irigaray, played by Teller, who finds his life upended when a routine poacher arrest in the Black Rock Desert leads to a deadly confrontation with the outlaw Claude Dallas, portrayed by Affleck. The event sets off Irigaray’s unyielding pursuit of vengeance, blurring the lines between justice and obsession. The official synopsis describes the story as a high-stakes thriller fueled by raw emotions and moral ambiguity.
Wild Game is based on Frank Bergon’s novel, which itself draws from true events. Hall, who previously worked with Teller on Thank You for Your Service (2017), will write, direct, and produce the film. Alongside Hall, producers Fred Berger (A Complete Unknown), Brian Kavanaugh Jones (The Bikeriders), and Steve Richards (Afterburn) will contribute to the project’s development.
Teller expressed excitement about reuniting with Hall, stating, “We’ve had a great collaboration in the past on Thank You for Your Service, and I know he’s going to bring incredible depth to this story. Claude Dallas is such a complex and layered character—tough, relentless, and living by his own code. I can’t wait to get started with this team.”
The film is already generating anticipation, with both leading actors bringing their signature intensity to what promises to be a compelling, action-packed thriller.
