Shaman, a chilling possession horror film set in a remote Ecuadorian village, has been acquired by Well Go USA Entertainment for North American distribution. The film, directed by Antonio Negret and written by Daniel Negret, is slated for release in mid-2025.
The movie stars Sara Canning (A Series of Unfortunate Events), Daniel Gillies (The Originals), and Jett Klyne (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness). The story follows a missionary, played by Canning, who arrives in a secluded Ecuadorian village with her husband (Gillies) to convert the local Indigenous community. However, tensions escalate when the couple clashes with a local shaman. After the encounter, their son (Klyne) becomes seemingly possessed by an ancient spirit.
As the family faces terrifying supernatural forces, the missionary is forced to confront her faith and a demon older than her own religion. With her son’s soul at risk, she must make an impossible decision that could either save or condemn them all.
Shaman is produced by Night Tree, Epopeya Films, and Macumba Films.
