Edward Furlong, best known for his role in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, is set to face an otherworldly threat in Unspeakable: Beyond the Wall of Sleep, a new cosmic horror film based on H.P. Lovecraft’s 1919 short story. The film, which marks the third adaptation of Lovecraft’s work by writer-director Chad Ferrin, will be released on VOD by Breaking Glass Pictures on March 4.
The film follows renowned oneirologist Ambrose London, who is called to Arkham Asylum to investigate a strange case involving a patient with a split personality, seemingly inhabited by the spirit of a 122-year-old colonial peasant. Initially a psychological examination, London’s investigation takes a terrifying turn when his invention, the Dream Machine, accidentally releases an alien life form bent on the destruction of humanity.
Unspeakable: Beyond the Wall of Sleep features a diverse cast, including Bai Ling (The Crow), Ginger Lynn (The Devil’s Rejects), Robert Miano (Donnie Brasco), Lew Temple (The Devil’s Rejects), Steve Railsback (Lifeforce), and Cyril O’Reilly (Porky’s).
Ferrin expressed his excitement about the film’s release, stating, “I’m thrilled to have Unspeakable: Beyond the Wall of Sleep, the final film in my Lovecraft trilogy, in the hands of Breaking Glass Pictures. I know this boundary-pushing, gonzo film will get the passionate release it deserves from them.”
The film’s practical effects are handled by Joe Castro, known for his work on Campfire Tales and Iron Sky: The Coming Race.
Previously, Beyond the Wall of Sleep was adapted into a 2006 film featuring special effects legend Tom Savini.
