Delroy Lindo Joins Cast of ‘Godzilla x King Kong’ Sequel

by Barbara

Veteran actor Delroy Lindo is set to face off against Titans once again in Legendary’s MonsterVerse, officially signing on for the highly anticipated sequel to Godzilla x Kong. The film, which is slated for release by Warner Bros. on March 26, 2027, will continue the saga of giant monsters and human heroes.

Lindo joins an already impressive cast that includes Kaitlyn Dever (No One Will Save You), Jack O’Connell (Eden Lake, 300: Rise of an Empire), and Dan Stevens, who will reprise his role as the kaiju expert, Trapper, from Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

While plot details remain scarce, sources suggest the movie will follow “several new human characters alongside the iconic Titans, Godzilla and Kong, as they confront a cataclysmic, world-ending threat.” Lindo’s role has been revealed: he will play the boss of Dever’s character at Monarch, the secretive scientific organization that has alternately aided and hunted the monstrous creatures. O’Connell’s character will be Dever’s brother, and the two will share the screen once again in Sinners, a film directed by Ryan Coogler.

Lindo’s casting will likely be welcomed by fans who had been anticipating his role in Marvel Studios’ Blade reboot, a project that has seen significant setbacks, including the departure of much of its cast last year.

Directed by Grant Sputore (I Am Mother), this latest MonsterVerse installment follows the success of 2023’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which grossed over $571 million worldwide. The franchise, which has now expanded to five films over the last decade, continues to grow, with the recently launched Monarch: Legacy of Monsters series also set to release its second season on Apple TV+.

With an expanding ensemble and a growing fanbase, this new chapter in the MonsterVerse is sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
