Amanda Seyfried Stars in Gripping Thriller ‘Long Bright River’

Peacock has dropped an intense new trailer for Long Bright River, a limited series starring Emmy Award-winner Amanda Seyfried in a riveting role as a determined patrol officer chasing down a ruthless killer behind a series of brutal murders.

Based on the highly praised novel by Liz Moore, Long Bright River also features Nicholas Pinnock (Django), Ashleigh Cummings (Hounds of Love), and a strong supporting cast including Callum Vinson (Coup!), John Doman (Borgia), Dash Mihok, Britne Oldford, Matthew Del Negro, and Harriet Sansom Harris. The series rounds out its ensemble with appearances by Patch Darragh and Perry Mattfeld.

The trailer unveils a dark mystery, centered on the deaths of three women. Seyfried portrays Mickey, a beat cop, whose search for the killer is complicated by her lack of experience in detective work. However, as the investigation unfolds, Mickey uncovers shocking connections to her own past.

Set against the backdrop of family struggles and addiction, Long Bright River weaves a complex narrative about crime’s devastating impact on a community. Seyfried’s portrayal of Mickey is filled with emotional depth, capturing the essence of a woman fueled by an insatiable desire for justice. The trailer builds tension, drawing audiences into a world of secrets, deception, and dark twists.

The series is led by showrunner and director Nikki Toscano (The Offer), who also serves as writer and executive producer. Liz Moore, the author of the original novel, also executive produces, alongside Seyfried. Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Amanda Lewis, Amy Pascal, and Russell Rothberg also serve as producers.

Long Bright River is set to premiere on Peacock on March 13.
