Prime Video’s upcoming murder-mystery thriller, Holland, brings Nicole Kidman into a twisted tale of secrets and deception, as the film dives into the dark undercurrents of a seemingly peaceful town.
Set to premiere on March 27, 2025, Holland—formerly titled Holland, Michigan—is the latest project from director Mimi Cave, best known for her work on the film Fresh. The official trailer, released today, offers a glimpse into a suspenseful Hitchcockian story, promising a ride of twists and tension.
The plot follows Nancy (Nicole Kidman), whose idyllic life in the small town of Holland, Michigan begins to unravel after she and a friend discover a chilling secret hidden within their community. As they dig deeper into the mystery, their peaceful surroundings become increasingly dangerous.
The film also stars Gael García Bernal, Jude Hill, and Matthew Macfadyen, with supporting performances from Rachel Sennott (Bodies Bodies Bodies), Lennon Parham (Minx), Isaac Krasner (Power Book III: Raising Kanan), and Jeff Pope (Interview with the Vampire).
Written by Andrew Sodroski (Manhunt), Holland will make its world premiere at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival on March 9, 2025, before its official streaming release on Prime Video later that month.
This project has undergone several changes since its early development in 2013 when Naomi Watts and Bryan Cranston were initially attached to star, with documentary filmmaker Errol Morris slated to direct. After a series of delays, Amazon acquired the film rights in 2016, bringing it to its final form with Cave at the helm.
